Friday, Aug. 14 — As always, Tucker’s people are committed to making this city the best it can be. This week’s stories are all about Tucker growing and improving: we’ve got a new plan for Northlake, a new business, and a new approach to transportation in the city.
But before we get to these exciting developments:
Tucker City Council members celebrated the opening of Pelican’s Snoballs at 4059 Lawrenceville Highway with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday.
Infinite Horizons, the new arcade from the Infinite Realities team, is now open in downtown Tucker. The business is celebrating the grand opening on Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. with face painting, goodie bags, giveaways, and unlimited play for a flat rate.
Tucker Summer of Fun continues on Thurs., Aug. 20, with a screening of “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” at Tucker Town Green. The movie starts at 7 p.m., but show up at 5:30 p.m. to secure your spot.
Tucker Pride is looking for performers for a stand-up comedy fundraiser on Sept. 26. People interested in performing can DM the organization on Instagram.

Community seeks feedback on One Northlake plan
Leaders of the Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District (CID) are seeking feedback from the community on a plan to better connect the Northlake district.
The One Northlake Plan will be developed by CID leaders – with support from a grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Livable Centers Initiative – over the next several months. The aim is to coordinate transportation and development strategies across the one-square-mile area spanning Tucker and unincorporated DeKalb County.
Over the next few weeks, the CID is seeking feedback from community members to identify key areas for improvement.

City council amends transportation plan
Members of the Tucker City Council voted on Aug. 10 to amend the Transportation and Trails Plan to emphasize safety and community connectivity.
In 2018, the City of Tucker completed a Strategic Transportation Master Plan, after which the city partnered with the PATH foundation to create a city-wide Trail Master Plan. These two studies have been consolidated into a unified Transportation and Trails Master Plan. The plan provides recommended projects, including estimated costs and prioritization, for operational, capacity, trail, and sidewalk improvements.
The changes approved by the council included adding a multi-use path along Chamblee Tucker Road, standardizing sidewalk and bike facility standards, and strengthening the Vision Zero goal, which seeks to achieve zero traffic deaths by 2050.

Hungry AF comes to Tucker
The local Black-owned restaurant chain Hungry AF will be opening up a new location in Tucker later this year.
Since 2022, Hungry AF has become beloved across Atlanta for its fusion menu featuring “world famous” pasta, wings, phillies, burgers, and fried rice. The restaurant also offers a different creative wing flavor and cookie each month.
The new Hungry AF Tucker will be located at 4431 Hugh Howell Road. According to a social media post from co-owner Chris Berry, the restaurant will open later in 2026.
